Although Alton Towers itself dates back to the 8th century, the theme park in Staffordshire is much more modern! The attraction features rides for all age groups, as well as accommodation, restaurants and shops.
To really get away from it all, there is a spa on site where beauty treatments and relaxation rooms are available. It is easy to find something to eat and drink at Alton Towers, as there are numerous restaurants, cafes and kiosks around the park. There are also many shops selling gifts. All of these are accessible with wheelchairs and prams.
Two themed hotels are located at Alton Towers. One has a Caribbean theme, and the other is styled as a fictional inventor's home. This allows guests to be in close proximity of the park, and take advantage of reduced admission tickets. Rooms are available for disabled visitors, which have been fitted with pull-cord alarms, easy access bathrooms and an extra bed if needed for a companion.
