A glacial valley in the west of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England, Eskdale is a stunning area in which the River Esk flows, however unusually Eskdale is not home to a lake. Eskdale is a popular attraction, especially during the summer months, largely due to the amazing scenery and selection of walking trails that can be followed.
England’s highest mountain, Scafell, is nearby and is a popular challenge for many mountain climbers! One of the Lake District’s most popular tourist attractions, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, runs through the valley also. The main access to the valley is from the western end, however there are numerous other points of access around the area.
