Glasgow airport is Scotland’s main airport, open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Passengers fly to over 90 destinations including Canada, the USA, the Caribbean, Saudi Arabia and Spain, as well as numerous domestic flights.
The Glasgow Flyer runs every 10 minutes and connects the airport with both Glasgow Central bus station and Glasgow rail stations: The journey time is around 15 minutes and the cost is at present £4.50 one way.
For those travelling by car to and from the airport GLA Glasgow is situated just 8 miles out of Glasgow, junction 28 off the M8 motorway. There are designated areas for picking up and dropping off passengers, and disabled (blue badge) holders have 30 minutes of free waiting time. Both short and long term parking is available – both well signposted from the roads. Short term parking spaces are situated a short walk from the terminal building and long term parking facilities are a short courtesy coach service away.
All the major car hire companies operate from the arrivals areas in the airport. Taxis are available 24 hours a day (the cost at present of a ride to the centre of Glasgow is £22).The taxi rank is located in front of the terminal building.
There are a wide range of shopping and eating facilities at the airport including a duty free shop.
The airport’s left baggage desk is located in the check-in hall on the first floor of the terminal and is open 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am until 4pm at weekends.
There are three dedicated baby change areas in the terminal building and two soft play areas. The restaurants are family friendly and can supply high chairs and bottle warmers.
For those wishing to enjoy panoramic views of incoming and departing flights Frankie and Benny’s restaurant is the best place to do so.
