The Glen Livet Distillery

The Glen Livet Distillery offers visitors the opportunity to learn about one of Scotland’s oldest legal distilleries and the producer of The Glenlivet, the world’s second best selling single malt Scotch whisky. 

The distillery has two exhibitions for visitors. The first, “The Spirit of the Glen”, is about the special requirements regarding the climate and the terrain for producing malt whisky, with particular emphasis on the conditions in Glen Livet. The second exhibition, “The Glenlivet Legacy”, tells something of the history and events leading up to the making of the whisky that now bears the name The Glenlivet. Visitors can go from one exhibition to another as they are arranged in a parallel path. 

As well as these exhibitions visitors can also view the whisky making process and can sample the product. 

The Glen Livet Distillery is located near to the Glenlivet Estate and after a visit to the distillery it is possible to explore the countryside of the Glenlivet valley following three historic walks provided by The Crown Estate and the distillery. 

They are located on the surrounding area, known as The Glenlivet Estate, which encompasses an area of nearly 90 square miles. Although this is Crown property there is free access for  visitors who wish to explore the Glenlivet Estate trails for walking, cycling and informal recreation.

A wide range of visitor attractions and facilities can be found on the Estate, an adventure playground and places of historic, cultural or natural heritage interest. 

The Estate was presented with the 2010 "Finest Woods Award for Innovation and Diversity".
