A long walk in the Peaks starts at Grindleford, near Sheffield and ends at Padley Gorge. It's a lovely 12km walk by riversides and through woodland. It takes in Longshaw Estate which is part of the National Trust, Padley Chapel where two Catholic priests were found guilty of high treason and the iron age Carl Walk. It's geographically close to Sheffield, but you might as well be a whole world away, nestled in the hills and dales of the Peaks. Jo Smith
