Planes from Humberside airport fly to the Netherlands, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Malta, Spain and Cyprus, as well as Jersey and Aberdeen in the UK. The airport is located just off the A18 trunk road, three miles from the M180 motorway. There are comprehensive parking facilities at the airport with spaces for both long term and short term parking. Whilst car parking can be booked in advance it is also possible to simply turn up and park and pay on departure via barriers or ticket machines. All the car parks are walkable from the airport terminal. There are dedicated spaces for disabled travellers in the short term car park.
The X1 ‘Humber Flyer’ operates a bus service from the airport between Grimsby and Hull. The closest rail station is Barnetby which is just three miles away and runs a service to Doncaster. Airport taxis operate from the terminal building and can be booked in advance. It is also possible to register in advance for car sharing, a service which matches passengers and routes.
Europcar are the resident car rental company and cars can be booked prior to travelling or arranged on arrival.
A number of shops including W H Smiths are based in the main concourse and two bars – Bar des Voyageurs and ‘Bar’ are open to passengers during flight times.
A bureau de change is available to customers before entering security, as well as a travel shop. For passengers with special needs there are help points and a manned reception desk in the arrivals hall. Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge. Assistance dogs are welcome in the airport and can travel on planes as long as they comply with PETS (the pets travel scheme).
For travellers wishing to travel onward four daily flights to Amsterdam provide connections to Hong Kong, New York and Johannesburg.
