Ipswich

Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk, England and is home to many artists. The town features a variety of galleries at various locations such as Christchurch Mansion, the Town Hall, a gallery in Ancient House and the Artists Gallery in Electric House being amongst the most important.

The visual arts are also of great importance in the area, with many sites of sculpture that can be accessed with great ease. The town also houses Ipswich Museum and the Ipswich Transport Museum, where you can look in depth at the history of the area, which can also be seen along the streets, such as the several medieval churches.

The grandest is the Victorian St Mary le Tower located by Ipswich Waterfront that is one of the few churches in the country built during the reign of William IV with a spectacular. Ipswich sits close to the A14 and the A12 roads as well as being on the Great Eastern Main Line from London to Norwich.

An elegant and stunningly beautiful, Grade I listed, 16th Century moated hall; Otley is a fine example of late medieval architecture.

Fomer home of Bartholomew Gosnold (discoverer of Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard; so-named after his infant daughter), the hall is now privately owned but remains open for historical tours.
