Jersey

Set just 14 miles off the coast of Normandy in France, Jersey is a truly wonderful island that blends together both British and French influences to create a really unique atmosphere. The climate is similar to that of the south of England with mild winters and cool summers. 

        From the long sandy bays in the south to the rugged cliffs in the north, the coastline is the main feature of Jersey, with the dramatic Atlantic Ocean all the time lapping the shores. Many families visit Jersey to make the most of the outdoors and enjoy this fantastic coastline. The dramatic cliffs and rocky coves make for amazing walks along the coast, while the sandy beaches and exposed bays are just perfect for relaxed days enjoying the sands. 

As the majority of the island is countryside and woodland, getting out and about on Jersey is a must, make the most of the amazing surroundings on foot or explore the country lanes on bike. The more adventurous will find plenty of watersporting opportunities. 

There are lots of fun family days out on Jersey like the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which is set in 31 acres of land, as well as the interesting Jersey Museum and Maritime Museum, which both have exhibits to relive Jersey’s past and rich maritime history. Even more history can be had at the Jersey War Tunnels, Neolithic burial mound La Hougue Bie and the Battle of the Flowers Museum. 
 
Jersey is home to an abundance of National Trust properties, which make a great day out, as does Living Legend, which has something for all the family including go-karting, outdoor playgrounds, shops, 18-hole adventure golf course, restaurants and allows you to see Jersey through the ages. You’ll also love the castles on the island like Elizabeth Castle in St Aubin’s Bay and the 13th century Mont Orgueil Castle.
