Kings Lynn

UK accommodation

The town and port of King's Lynn in Norfolk, England has always been a centre for the fishing and seafood industry and due to this is becoming an increasingly popular location for holidaymakers.

But Kings Lynn has enjoyed a broader history than just fishing, as there have also been glass making and small-scale engineering works, with many fairground and steam engines built in the area. Today the town is still the location for much agricultural-related industry including food processing. The town holds two festivals annually during the summer, King's Lynn Festival and Festival Too.

Festival Too is one of the top three largest free music festivals in Europe and is held on Tuesday Market Place with crowds attracted of more than 12,000 people strong. Past performers include Suzi Quatro, The Human League and The Buzzcocks. The King's Lynn Festival is primarily classical music held in historic venues throughout town, and attracts big names from orchestras to opera and stage-plays.
