Kyle of Lochalsh is a pretty village situated on the North West coast of Scotland, around 63 miles west from Inverness. Its location at the entrance to Loch Alsh, opposite the village of Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye makes it a popular area for those wanting to experience the gorgeous, raw Scottish countryside.
Kyle of Lochalsh railway station is connected to Inverness by the Kyle of Lochalsh railway line, which was built in 1897 with the view to improve public transport to the North West of Scotland. The line ends on the water's edge, near where the ferry connection used to run.
