The village of Lochinver is located on the coast in the Assynt district of Sutherland, in the Highlands of Scotland. A few miles northeast is Loch Assynt which is the source of the River Inver which flows into Loch Inver at the village.
Lochinver is the second largest fishing port in Scotland and enjoys visitors coming from all over the world wanting to taste the local delicacies. The back of Lochinver has beautiful nature areas being developed in conjunction with small-scale forestry activities. Lochinver is also a hub for birdwatchers, as the birdlife in the Lochinver area includes the curlew, oystercatcher and hooded crow.
