Lydd International Airport

London Ashford airport is situated just 10 miles from Ashford International Station in Kent and 22 miles south of Ashford itself. It is open seven days a week between the hours of 9am and 7pm. It is a short distance from the coast, at Lydd which is an area of great natural beauty.

By car the airport is accessed by leaving the M20 Motorway at junction 10 in order to join the A2070 where the airport is well signposted. The journey from the motorway takes around 20 minutes. London is roughly an hour and 20 minutes away by car.

Passengers using the nearby train station should take a bus or taxi from the airport. Buses run regularly throughout the day.

Car parking is available at the airport and there is no fee for those parking for the day and currently only a £3 charge for leaving cars overnight.

 

The ‘Biggles’ restaurant which is located in the terminal building provides hot and cold food and drink and also provides conference facilities including catering for wedding parties and celebrations – also a golf course is situated a short shuttle ride from the terminal which has many facilities including a driving range and restaurant.

From London Ashford airport there are regular flights to Le Touquet on the North French coast – a popular destination for weekend visitors. The airport is also popular with aviation enthusiasts and has competitive rates for private flyers. There are plans to expand the airport in order to provide more passenger services. But at present the main facilities at the airport include passenger and aircraft handling, engineering, and storage, plus fuel and AVGAS. There is unrestricted airspace and training facilities for pilots with very competitive rates. There is also an excellent weather record in the area.
