Newquay

The seaside location of Newquay is a town found on the north Atlantic coast of Cornwall, England. For over a century Newquay has been a popular destination for tourists, particularly due to its fantastic weather and beaches. These include Fistral, which considered to be the best surfing beach in the British Isles.

Amongst the attractions Newquay has on offer are the Trenance Leisure Gardens, sited in a wooded valley on the quieter edge of Newquay. The gardens provide visitors with walks, tennis courts and a bowling green, as well as a Boating lake, mini-golf, a swimming pool, the "Little Western" miniature railway and Newquay Zoo.

 

Amongst the many events Newquay hosts is the "Run to the Sun" event, which always takes place during the public holiday on the last weekend in May at Trevelgue Holiday Park. The resort is known as "The Surfing Capital of Britain" and has many surfing stores, board manufacturers and hire shops in the town.

At its heart is a giant ocean tank complete with walk-through tunnel that allows visitors to wander among reef sharks, puffer fish and shoals of marine fish.
