Whitgift Centre, Croydon, Greater London

The Whitgift Centre has grown over a number of years to its current size and design. Starting with just one store, it now offers dozens of stores, shops and eateries surrounding a light and airy central atrium. Built on three storeys, the two upper ones provide all the retail outlets and facilities.

The lower level is for deliveries and access for the businesses of the centre. It is in the centre of Croydon Borough and easily accessible.

The centre welcomes family shoppers and has many provisions for the younger members. The Weenies Kids Club provides for 3 – 10 year olds and organises many events, activities and entertainment throughout the year. These are increased considerably during the major school holidays. 

Some of the activities and workshops need to be booked in advance to ensure a place. This is particularly important during holidays as the club is very popular. Within the centre itself there are various children’s rides on all levels. 

Disabled access is very good, with special attention being given to extra wide lifts and walkways.  

To encourage repeat visit and customer loyalty, the centre operates a membership scheme, with special offers, a newsletter and updates to all customers.        

Because of its central location, the Whitgift Centre is easily reached. It is equidistant from the 2 rail stations in Croydon, and a short walk from either. There is a London underground link to the Wellesley Road tube station, a short walk away from the Centre. London buses run a regular service to the town centre and the Croydon tram service links in all outlying districts. 

If arriving by car there is ample parking nearby, provided by NCP. The sister shopping centre, Centrale, has considerable parking and is a relatively short walk away from the Whitgift.  

However you arrive, the Whitgift Centre has much to offer all ages.
