Wireless Festival

If you want four stages and world class musicians over three days, then the Wireless Festival is for you.  Held in the heart of London, this festival is easily accessible and offers acts such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, White Stripes and The Strokes.  In addition, the festival is about more than just music with pampering, video games and even a beach party available to festival goers.

Tickets to the festival, held each year in Hyde Park, are available online and only from reputable dealers.  The best place to purchase tickets to make sure you are getting the real deal is from the official Wireless Festival website.  Tickets are also sold at the gate, but they are subject to availability.  If you plan on purchase tickets this way, it is best to bring cash as card payments can take a long time to process, creating delays for everyone in the queue.

There is no camping allowed for the Wireless Festival, so your best bet is to find a hotel room near the festival site.  Holiday Inn, Hilton, Sheraton and Best Western among many others have hotels in the vicinity for very reasonable rates.  Because the festival is held in the heart of the city, the best way to arrive is by tube or bus.  The Wireless Festival is held on the east side of Hyde Park, near Park Lane.  The main entrance is to the north with the closest tube stops being Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner station.  The two main tube lines servicing the festival include the Central Line and the Piccadilly Line.  Coming to the festival by bus is also another easy way of transportation.  There are numerous buses running the Hyde Park from various points around London including the north, south and west parts of the city.  See various bus schedules for more details on the bus numbers which will take you directly to the site.       

If there is a break in the action from the musical acts you want to see, there are still plenty of other things to do and see at the festival.  Visit the Elemis SpaBus for a chance to get a little pampering in the middle of the park or try out the latest video games at The EA Hub.  There’s even a massive beer garden and chill out areas in which to take a break from the action.  In addition, there is a dance day where you can get your groove on while listening the beats of artists such as Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx and many more.  Plenty of food and alcohol is also for sale throughout the grounds catering to a wide array of tastes.  Soft drinks, cider, wine and beer will be available at various bars. 

Unfortunately, there are some things you can’t bring with you to the Wireless Festival.  Those items include: chairs, tables, barbeques, alcohol, glass, or food hampers.  Do, however, wear appropriate clothing for the weather as well as sunscreen to protect against sunburn.  Don’t forget your ticket and camera so you can be sure to record all the great memories you are sure to make.
